Rowlatts Are In The Top 3% in the Country
This week we received a letter from the Department for Education congratulating us for our successes last academic year. We’re all very proud of our children and the staff who helped make this happen. And, of course, this cannot work without the support of our parents and families.

Number 1 School in Leicester City ! !
This last week the Leicester Mercury ran an article celebrating the best schools across Leicester City and Leicestershire.
We are very proud to announce that Rowlatts Hill Primary Academy are the
number 1 school in Leicester City and only 2nd across the entire county.
The article also shows that we are number 22 in the entire county of over 14,000 primary schools. Wow!!
Well done to everybody involved in getting us there and here’s to many more years of the same.

New Class Names This Year
This school year we have made a slight change to our class names and instead of using numbers, we have given each class a Name. The new names are on the doors to each classroom.

After a lovely and hot summer break we’re all ready to go for the new school year starting on Thursday 30th August.
We hope you’re all rested and raring to go.
Can’t wait to see you all all dressed in your school uniforms and looking smart.

Once again we say our fond farewells to another Year 6 cohort. They have truly been amazing and they have exceeded both ours and their expectations.
We wish them all every success in their chosen futures.

Massed Choir Event – De Montfort Hall
The video below show this years Massed Choir Event at the De Montfort Hall on Weds 27th June. 14 of the group you can see came from Rowlatts Hill. They all sang beautifully.
What else is happening in the Foundation Stage?
In topic we made tiger pizzas after reading ‘The Tiger who came to Tea’ – they were roarsome.
In Autumn term children took part in a Leaf hunt.
Outside area inspiring children to use their imagination and create a castle. Children enjoy working as a team and sharing ideas.
Our annual farm animal visit. FS had a fantastic day sharing the playground with our visitors and learning all about goats.
After reading the story Handa’s Surprise and feeling inspired FS painted their own African necklaces using paper plates.
During P.E. FS love playing with the parachute. It develops our gross motor skills and attention and listening.
During Phonics we don’t just practise our reading and writing. FS enjoy rhythm sticks, we use them to develop our language and listening.
