Academy Council (Formerly Local Governing Body)
The Rowlatts Mead Primary Academy is made up of volunteers (known as ‘academy councillors) who commit their time to work alongside the leadership team of the academy to play an important part in raising academy standards.
The Academy Council has a strong focus on three core strategic functions:
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Holding the principal to account for the educational performance of the academy and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
- Overseeing the financial performance of the academy and making sure its money is well spent.
